square28aA key to effective pastoral care and welfare of students are the school’s strategies to encourage safe and correct choices.  The School is part of the School-wide Positive Behaviours for Learning (SPB4L) initiative in our Diocese.

SPB4L aims to build a supportive school environment where positive behaviour is promoted through explicit instruction, active supervision and reinforcement-based strategies.

The school staff has developed a school rules and behaviour expectations matrix for all areas of our school.  Detailed lesson plans are explicitly taught, so children know what BEING SAFE, RESPECTFUL and RESPONSIBLE looks like at school.

As needed, if serious concerns arise or a repeated pattern of inappropriate behaviour is evident, then in consultation with parents, an individual management behavioural plan will be put in place to support the student to demonstrate appropriate behaviours.
