title sport

Our three main sports carnivals are Swimming, Athletics and Cross Country. These days provide opportunities for all students to participate at school level in a spirit of enjoyment and good sportsmanship. As a result of these carnivals, squads are formed to represent St Francis of Assisi School at a Diocesan level. Students may then be chosen to participate at the Mackillop trials, MacKillop (State levels in Catholic schools) and National levels.

School teams are selected to participate in Diocesan Gala Days in Soccer, Netball and Basketball.

Outstanding sporting students in Years 5 and 6, playing in the highest division possible, are invited to attend trials for positions in Wollongong Diocese representative teams. Trials are conducted for a variety of sports including Tennis, Basketball, Netball, Soccer, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Touch, Hockey, Softball and Cricket.

The representative pathways are as follows:

School-based Carnivals/Trials > Diocesan Carnivals/Trials > NSW MacKillop Carnivals/Trials > NSW PSSA State Carnivals > Australian Championships (School Sport Australia).
